Deep Impact Infotainment Solutions invites applications for a full-time faculty position in teaching music. The starting date for this position is February 1, 2010.  Rank & salary will be commensurate with experience & qualifications.

Deep Impact Infotainment Solutions is NOT a Music school, but offers individual music instruction to students on a regular basis. Our team of staff are contracted on a fee basis & help them develop teaching plans & guidelines. The Tutor will be required to teach individual lessons or offer group lessons generally of duration 2 hours to three hours & are usually scheduled once a week. The Tutor must be able to teach at different levels of skill, from beginner to professional.

As part of the Deep Impact Infotainment Solutions team, the Tutor will be  responsible for providing students with a thorough knowledge of the chosen field of music. With a strong emphasis on musical literacy, the Curriculum needs to be designed & regularly updated to be useful in all styles by the Tutor. Basic theoretic understanding of the chosen musical interest to application of the same needs to be imparted as part of the crucial foundation & working music knowledge for students.

Qualifications

• Formal degree in music preferred – in the absence of the same, formal music teaching experience may be considered.
• Professional skills in classroom teaching.
• Flexible, creative individual invested in constantly improving & developing pedagogy & materials.
• Ability to teach or create electives.
• Experience in curriculum development & integrating technology into curriculum.
• Broad knowledge of contemporary & classic popular styles & repertoire in the chosen music expertise.
• Commitment to using this stylistic breadth in the classroom.
• Performance skills for teaching purposes.
• Dedication to ongoing professional development.
• Willingness to create, embrace & follow a structured curriculum.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Ability to work with a multicultural student environment.

Responsibilities:
• Teach the student the basics of the instrument & music.
•Work on curriculum development & improving & updating instructional materials.
• Service to student activities, as determined by the Organization.
• Professionally advising students.
• Other duties as specified in the Faculty Contract Agreement.
