In short, taking music lessons / music workshops can be a serious financial commitment. Consider this as a test of how serious you are about music lessons / music workshops (be it for you or your child). It could well mean doing without other things.

However, this is an

investment in your life. Even if you don’t become a professional musician, knowing how to play an instrument & taking it as far as you can makes you more rounded & soulfully joyous person - that can’t be measured in financial terms.

The same is true with your child. What your child gets from music lessons / music workshops is much more than music - a discipline for working & an ethic that will stand the child in good stead in life.
